Has anyone lent money through Prosper.com? I have an associate who has used it for the past 2 years and he said he has had pretty good success. Out of 12 loans he made only 1 has been late. I set up an account and may make a few minor loans. Pretty interesting concept.
I asked about this a few months ago and even signed up for an account, but chickened out at the last minute. If people are willing to walk away from hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of loans, I don’t see why anyone would blink an eye at a couple thousand. On top of the recession, I just don’t trust people to pay me back.

true that sd_bear. While the loan is not secured by anything the defaults are sent to collections. However Prosper gets any late fees, penalties, etc… Yet I agree with you, this is why I am soliciting any experiences. I recall your post now that you mention it.
