    In the last 18 months I have viewed just about every 4+ home for sale in the CV, DM, SB, Encinitas and Carlsbad area. One of my observations is how the listing agents recycle and totally abuse adjectives. I see words like “rare” to describe track homes and “oasis” to describe a 7000 SF CV lot with a thin strip of grass and a couple of palm trees in the back yard.

    About a year ago I picked up a flyer in CV for a home listed by Apple Realty. I would bet anything that this description was originally written in some SE Asian language. The copy was probably electronically translated into English, without the usual and necessary edits, and then cut and pasted onto the flyer. One of the funniest things I’ve ever read. I wish I kept that flyer.

    Anyway, since we have some time to kill before the 2011 buying season, I thought I’d start a “best of” adjectives by listing agent thread.

    As of today, what cracks me up on most listings is the price.

    When the Chargers were doing well, one listing mentioned that people will move to San Diego because we had “great weather and a winning team”.

    Another funny comment I heard: Prices in SEH will start going up once the Ralphs opens.
