I am a first time poster, but have been reading this site for some time. I rarely just jump into anything and prefer to get a feel of the site and who is here. Besides, I am usually reading this at work when bored, something I shouldnt be doing anyways. Also I have been kinda wanting to introduce myself on a thread like this, something not really real estate related. Seems better than just interjecting myself into a serious discussion about someones biggest financial decisions.
Just to introduce myself, I am younger than most on this board, mid-twenties. I am originally from Santa Barbara but have spent the better part of this decade in UCDavis. I found this site about 4 months ago. I am male, unmarried, and have a good job in La Jolla that doesnt pay the huge sums that everyone here seems to be making. I rent a house in Mira Mesa, own my own car outright, and save like there is no tomorrow. I carry no debts what-so-ever and have managed to hoard enough for a 20% down payment on a house. I inherited a large % of it, but I still manage to save about 25% of my take home pay each month ontop of my retirement $ (401k, roth etc).
That is what brings me to this site, when I moved here everyone told me to invest in Realestate, get rich quick etc. One of my degrees is in buisness and I have had accounting classes before. 10 seconds running the numbers made the hair on the back of my neck stand up and so here I am.
Post getting to long, so ill stop. Just wanted to start right and I fully intend to not be one of those names you put up, wondering what ever happened to that guy.
