Marriage makes my wife feel better about our family, It makes my mother in law feel better. If I had a living mother I bet she would feel a tinge better too. Maybe it is an insecurty on her part but she puts up with mine so I can’t see being a bully about it . I trust her to be fair no matter what comes. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have gotten in a situation with her where the topic would even come up. If she is not I can deal with it.

Many men choose lonely vices over dealing with the marriage and fear of financial insecurity issue. The odds of finding a good woman who is going accomodate a family or even long term sexual relationship without marriage are still slim. The ones that talk and act differently from that seem angry and/or fearful themselves, for the most part.
