Not to get us off-track on celebrating the head scarf but..

Think about this, a family sedan in the late 80s has about 120 Horse Power. Now it is 180-280 hp. Most of the articles I read from Car Magazines equate More horse power to a great car. 90% of Escalade/Hummer/Suburdan owners could be ok driving an Impala.

I drive a 2004 Impala and really like it.  Incidentally I rented a car back in Akron for 11 days not knowing what I'd get (Hotwire 19/day full size), and it was a 2007 Impala, and it was a nice ride.
