For managing/investing my assets, I use Rich (That’s Rich Toscano, who developed this website, for the uninitiated.) His strategies make a lot of sense, his communication is great, and I trust him totally to have my interests at heart. You can find links to his firm’s website in the upper right corners of the Piggington pages.

zkParticipantConcur. I had a great laugh when I saw that. Super funny.
zkParticipantThe internet is full of ridiculous rantings and lunatic noise. But in the ten years I’ve been surfing the net, this is the most pathetic thing I’ve ever read:
“Brooke, if you really want to help Rich, then encourage him to improve his analysis and stop jumping to conclusions. Push him to do better.”
Holy crap, Schahrzad, you really are mentally ill. Despite copious evidence, you don’t get the fact that you have no idea what you’re talking about. Rich’s analysis of anything and everything makes yours look like it’s done by a foolish 9 year old.
I wrote a comment in response to your post on VOS; I don’t know whether they’ll post it. But in it, I suggest you get mental help. All these people on piggington saying that you’re whacked won’t convince you of anything. All the logic and reason in the world won’t convince you of anything. The only way you’ll realize what and who you really are is to get professional help. And until you realize what and who you are, you won’t be able to reach your full potential. Good luck.
PC, saying ps is not as bad as those in the REIC is like saying Bush isn’t as bad as Hitler. I know you like to be nice, and that’s nice. You seem to me to be the type of guy who knows what “enabling” means. You’re enabling ps. Help her out and stop doing that.
zkParticipantI agree with PD the most. Powayseller is a bright person whose mind has been “hijacked.” It’s too bad, really. Check out the symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder:
1.has a grandiose sense of self-importance
2.is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
3.believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by other special people
4.requires excessive admiration
5.strong sense of entitlement
6takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
7.lacks empathy
8.is often envious or believes others are envious of him or her
9.arrogant affect.March 8, 2007 at 10:30 AM in reply to: Percentage decline from peak in areas of San Diego County #47139zkParticipantCarmel Valley:
As I’ve said before, we kind of saw a two-tiered situation in the first half of last year, where some sellers were still getting peak prices while others were getting somewhat less (5-15%). That pretty much went away in the second half of last year, when almost all sales were at 10-15% off peak prices.
So far this year, sales (pendings, anyway) seem to be picking up a bit. Prices are still mostly down, although of the sales that have closed, there are one or two properties that have sold for close to peak prices.
A mild spring bounce on a years-long decline, in my opinion.
zkParticipantRenting a home here is pretty expensive. Usually anywhere from $2800-$5000/mo. Sometimes a cheaper one will come on the market, and you’ve got to jump on it fast. Check craigslist and the Union-Tribune every day. Have a rental agency (or 2 or 7) be looking for you and ask them to call you as soon as something inexpensive comes up. Check the MLS every day (or have a realtor do it), also. There are some rentals on there. Check anywhere else you can think of.
Before you rent a house, you should try to be familiar with the rental market. You should have a good idea of what any particular house should rent for.
Then, when you find one at a bargain, get over there that day. Tell them how stable you are, how much money you make, what a great tenant you’ll be, that you’ll be staying a while, your wife loves to vacuum and clean, your kids will love the house, etc. I’ve seen a few houses for rent below market value, and there were hordes of people wanting to rent. So get in there and be the one.
zkParticipant“While I think qcomer and zk are right about the polarity of this dicussion here and in US politics, I do think if they don’t like the discussion, then they can close their web browser. Belittling others for expressing their views is worse than whatever views they might have.”
I’m not sure why I’d close my web browser when I encounter childishness any more than a conservative would when a “liberal” disagrees with him.
What I’m saying isn’t that I don’t want to hear people express their views. I’m saying that the political debate on this board is frequently childish and unintelligent.
Look at this quote from futuresdguy as an example:
The typical liberal does NOT believe in freedom of expression (among with all kinds of other rights). They try to emotionally blackmail their opponents by raising such freedoms in public discourse (e.g. “playing a race card”, etc). But when you look under their skin (which is rather thin) you can see that it’s only so they can force their worldview or governement upon others.
Their name-calling and patronizing is a consequence of generations of being out of mainstream thought. Like little children, they have to throw tantrums to get attention.”
First of all, it’s nothing but broad, unsubstantiable, and frequently ridiculous generalizations.
More importantly, he name calls and patronizes liberals, and then attacks liberals for name calling and patronizing. Then he name calls and patronizes some more.
