Participant$14,475 isn’t bad as that is lower than the $14,795 they had advertised in last weekends paper for MSRP of $18,314.
Did you email all the internet/fleet managers in the San Diego area to see if any will give you the $13,850 price? If they won’t do it now I bet you could check with them at end of month and they would.

ParticipantAnother even better deal on a new one…could have been a Jan or Feb purchase though, but I still think rebates are as strong. I would call or email this internet sales person and see if they will beat that deal by a few hundred. You will find this if you search the forum on edmunds.

I just purchased a LE w/cruise, remote door locks, mats and the heated mirror pkg,,,pretty standard LE. MSRP 18,314. I paid 13,850 plus doc fees of 55. Your tax and Lic will vary from county to county. This was an ad in the local paper, but they gave us the choice of color, as long as the MSRP was 18,314. Toyota of San Diego was the dealer, Van was the “Internet sales person”. No/low pressure through the deal.
I’ve been looking in the SD area and the best deal had been 14,995.
Note: all these prices reflect the 1500 rebate being used against the price.waterboy

ParticipantGo to edmunds.com and look under forums to see Toyota Corolla Prices Paid and Buying Experiences. That should give you an idea of what kind of deals people are getting. Just by taking a quick look I could see someone in SF Bay area just got a new 2009 Corolla LE for $16K out the door…if the dealer is asking for $17k plus tax, title, and liscense then that is not a good deal at all
I would search used ones first, but if you decide to go new you can also check the weekly ads in the UT for Mossey, Poway, Bob Baker…etc They always place 1-2 a week at great deals if you don’t care as much about options or color, but remember they can only deal that low on the specific ad car for the week as they get $ from toyota…basically a loss leader to get people in the door and fall in love with different color/options.
Ever check out Hyundai…they are good cars now.
