waiting for bottomParticipant
Horizon is a great street. Too bad that house faces the hill and not the ocean (but I guess it would cost more then, wouldn’t it?)
Seriously, I really like that street. Not sure if SEH will go up or not in the future. Is it really important to you? If you buy the house, can afford it, and plan on living in it for 10 years or more…who cares what the value is?

waiting for bottomParticipant
waiting for bottom, I didn’t say stop extracting.
Do you really want to open up sensitive natural areas with the technology so far showcased?
How about a new oil platform off the coast of Santa Barbara? BP might like to buy the lease.
BTW, a moratorium on new drilling in sensitive areas doesn’t mean that anyone is losing. The oil will still be there for extraction in the future when prices increase and technology is better proven.
Quit driving or shut your yap, jack.

waiting for bottomParticipant
Oddly, I’m with brian on this one. I’m all for other renewable sources (solar, wind, etc) that don’t carry with them the huge risk ocean floor oil drilling does.
I’m an avid surfer, so I guess the ocean is more sacred to me than most. This spill and the length of time to remedy the problem makes me sick.
Ocean is almost sacred to me too. The economy and life as we all know it is built around oil….like it or not. I’m all for renewable sources. What momementum do we have on itiatives for those? Until we get serious on that, drill baby drill.
The real outrage here should be on our lack of effort to develop alternatives, not on BP. We all talked in good game with $5/gallon gas in 2008. Nothing ever became of it.
