Participant
LOL, I do have a little wine problem. About 500 bottles or so. I’m actually working on putting together a little party with some wine friends at my house to do pizza’s (I have a grill that gets to about 600 degrees which works great with a pizza stone)and italian wines on a Sunday night. If your interested send me a PM and I’ll let you know when and if I pull it off.
If you want Italian wines, I have a couple great sources up in OC with some of the best prices in the country too.
So you drink Zin if it is called Primitivo?urbanrealtor
Participant
And I inherited my ability to trendspot from my Dad. True story. My parents used to got oconcerts with us and we were backstage at a Billy Joel Concert in Philly. Kal Rudman (google him if you dont know who he is) was there and we were talking to him. Kal is probably the most influential trend spotter in the history of braodcast radio. My dad asked him about Paul Simon’s new album Graceland and Kal said it is a disaster and no one will ever listen to it. My dad told him he was flat out wrong on it and it would be a monster commercial hit.
And I don’t drink Zin….ever
I get it.
You’re as old as moses and you listen to classical music.
I am impressed.
You actually made me think less both of your musical tastes as well as your wine taste.
These anecdotes are crap and zin is a damn good grape (though I do not drink the pink shit).
Thats the reason we still drink it long after the Egyptians stopped.
Truly though.
Consilience was started by Fess’s old chief winemaker and for a while they had the best damn red you have ever had.
Cinnabar crew also did some good juice.urbanrealtor

ParticipantAnd “guns of Navarone” is 50 years old.
Probably the first pop ska song in history.
They started performing it in 1960.
My son calls it “the train song”.

Participant
Lol, I don’t wear dentures!
Nice list there, UR! I haven’t heard the vast majority of them but the titles sound like they could be appropriate for a new state song.
Note to self: I see a few “fuddy-duddies” on (35 yo?) UR’s list, too :=]
About 7 years ago I saw Iggy at 4th and B.
That dude is incredible for a senior citizen.
Godfather of punk, guest vocals for White Zombie, played a Voorta on Star Trek DS9, appeared in a Jim Jarmusch film, played Donald Rumsfeld in a cartoon…urbanrealtor
