Someone’s ears are burning…this was just listed today. Unbelievable, it took them 5 months to get it on the market. Plus they are asking 15K higher than recent sales. This ought to be fun to watch.
It has been my experience that the lenders who now own these REO’s really vary in their skill level.
Lenders with a crapload (technical term) of inventory (think Wells, Countrywide, Fannie, Freddie, WaMu) tend to move faster and get things listed in a few weeks. Lesser-known groups tend to take longer and do it in a more haphazard or dysfunctional way. One of my favorite conversations was with an asset manager during the beginning of the current wave of foreclosures. Basically, he said they do what normal buyers did during the boom. They call 3 agents and ask all to give price opinions. The agent with the highest opinion got the listing. The effect was predictable.
I may be mistaken but the situation you reference sounds like on of these cases. Again, these phenomena are experienced anecdotally but regularly.
Does anyone else have something to contribute on this front?

ParticipantTypically, that info is mentioned on the Realist report. That is the public record database that Sandicor subscribes to.
Honestly the biggest complaint I have about the private consumer mls services in this area (sdlookup etc) is that they don’t have this sort of access.
Also, there is a field for this on the mls but it is sometimes left blank by the agent.
That is because agents get sued sometimes for stating the school district incorrectly (whether by mistake or on purpose). Not such an issue in Hillcrest or North Park or Downtown (where I do business) but a really big deal in suburban communities. If you thought you were in the Encinitas district and turned out to be in Vista,
it could really affect your decisions for buying. The single most reliable source I have seen for this is the websites for the school districts themselves.
Good luck.

It would be a different world. In my opinion a better world, but clearly some of the posters will think otherwise. The Marxists prefer someone else telling them how to think, long lines, ugly architecture and substandard medicine. The workers’ paradise.
Considering that democracy typically has evolved from a need to organize social relationships to offset the effects of un-restrained capitalism (eg: Britain and ancient Athens), I think it unlikely that any regime change without actual economic change could have brought about a new type of social structure. Please recall that, like Ireland, Russia was a country that tried to embrace modernity and failed. They ended up rationalizing serfdom centuries after the rest of the world had abandoned it and then suffering a dramatic backlash (ironically with the help of a Stalin, a Georgian). This attempt at modernizing artificially always ends up weird. My favorite examples are Iran, Japan, and Turkey. Makes me wonder what China will look like a few years from now.
And yes Mr. Gelb this is a threadjack. Not caring though.
