Participantto ex-sd:
Occidental:
He transferred out to go to Columbia. While less of an undergrad-focused school, wouldn’t anybody prefer to go to Columbia?Being a lawyer:
He was a summer associate (basically an intern) at 2 firms. Sidley Austin and Hopkins Sutter. As such he was probably in a support position under partner attorneys. I am assuming that last part because that is how it generally is in CA. I don’t know if he ever took the bar (I don’t think Bill Clinton did either). Following law school he focused on legal academia.Regarding Harvard Law Review:
I seem to recall that there is a writing competition and debate to get selected for this. His becoming president (I think) involved winning over the conservative members whose consent he would need. I don’t think it was a quota.Regarding legal teaching:
Visiting lecturer is the term (at least in CA) to describe an entry level (as opposed to tenured) teacher (as opposed to a researcher).Regarding the missing record:
I have heard this before. I have an easy time finding reports on his voting in Illinois. Can someone explain what this whole missing records story is about?
Also, here is a news story about his voting:
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/01/17/politics/main2369157.shtmlRegarding the intensification of the anti-terror campaign:
Yeah we know that. He said it at the convention.Regarding the rest of the platform:
Yeah we pretty much know the rest of that too. Most of us support it.urbanrealtor
ParticipantPerhaps this is unfair but she strikes me as the female version of Clarence Thomas.
This passing thought was buttressed when she referenced Ferraro and Clinton.
I am a liberal who really likes McCain. I would vote for him were I not taken with another candidate. While I made that other thread as snarky joke, I don’t have much of any real opinion about her competence.
I just don’t know enough about her.
I would like to like her. I don’t like to think that McCain is dumb or pandering.
So, can someone on the right here sum up what makes her compelling to you?
Not a manifesto. Just what makes her desirable and or strategically beneficial.

ParticipantI mean not necessarily progress but when a lender is slow and the listing agent is on top of it this can occur.

Participant
When you get to week 12, do you give up? I hit week 12 on mine next week. My realtor (smile) still seems optimistic, but my optimism (which is typically ludicrously high) is fading. Any thoughts? Has anyone else waited longer than this and actually had success?
Yup.
