In selecting vendors (agents, lenders, contractors) you should really shop and ask for references.

I am thinking that the op should really post the name and branch info for his loan officer.

Also, where is your agent in this?

Not to be too much of a tool but its important to have an agent who double checks the lender (and vice versa).
