We don’t need to be in Carlsbad to get their business, that’s why we have three stores in Oceanside. Oceanside reaps the benefit of the tax revenue, Carlsbad doesn’t. Pretty dumb business move for Carlsbad, smart for Oceanside.

You must really have a hard-on for Walmart or something! The reason Walmart failed in Germany had nothing to do with IT systems, it was that Walmart did not fit culturally within the German society. They didn’t do their homework and it cost them. We have since gotten smarter and are in over 30 countries worldwide, sometimes not using the “Walmart” name.

It’s a different Walmart today, but it depends on what time you go. 8am is best time, of course if you go at 7pm the store has been “shopped hard” by thousands and isn’t the most pristine shopping experience.
