Quick point about Gore: When you have a moment, check out Al Gore’s current net worth. Compare it to his net worth in the 1990s and earlier this decade. It will make your jaw drop. Now look where all of that money is coming from. This will absolutely enrage you.[/quote]

teacherSDParticipantI used to work in this district before they opened Canyon Crest. Back then a lot of people wanted their kids to go to San Dieguito Academy because it was a smaller school. If I remember correctly, SDA had less than 2000 kids (maybe 1500?) at a time when Torrey Pines had more than 3000.
People want to attend Canyon Crest in large part because of their performing arts program.
However, many athletes choose to stay at Torrey or La Costa Canyon because they have much more competitive athletic teams. SDA and CCA play in smaller divisions and don’t have football teams.

teacherSDParticipantThe San Dieguito High School District has 5 high schools. Torrey Pines and La Costa Canyon are traditional high schools and attendance is based on where you live.
San Dieguito Academy and Canyon Crest Academy are schools of choice (similar to a magnet school). Anyone who lives in the district can apply to go to these schools and they hold a lottery for enrollment if too many kids want to go there.
Therefore, if you lived in PHR you technically have three public high school choices: Torrey, Canyon Crest, and San Dieguito.
(BTW – the 5th high school is Sunset – a continuation school).
