ParticipantA few comments regarding Tom Tom (BAD) and Garmin (Good).
We have both a Tom Tom unit, and a Garmin, both with up to date maps.
We confirm what is widely discussed in GPS forums: Tom Tom maps are often very inaccurate for North America, but are far more accurate in Europe. This is due to Tom Tom sources its maps from a Europe focused map provider.
Garmin maps are generally far more accurate (than Tom Tom) for America’s region.
I would never again buy Tom Tom for use in America.

ParticipantAnd I add this comment, in anticipation of the forum whiners and ranters who will flame that Prechter has been wrong many times.
I’ve been tracking Prechter’s views – recording them on note cards – now for 30 years, since I was in high school.
And I say to you that nearly all the times Prechter has been “wrong” it was later seen that he was in fact RIGHT, only these were cases where he was in error only by being premature predicting when those events would occur.

ParticipantI think this thread’s been ‘jacked.
Which is OK because now I have the urge to do some squatting.
I need to assume the position and see if an idea for a new Piggington.com thread comes out of me.

ParticipantYou know, if you hold the phone with your hand touching the wrap-around bezel, your cell signal drops to zero, but your skull can then pick up HAM radio signals from Eastern Europe.
This is a little known fact of the iPhone gen4.
Twist your nose to tune in a HAM signal.
You’ll be able to hear Dilbert-type geeks from around the world who are searching HAM radio for their first date (or sounds of alien life), or both. If you open your mouth sometimes nearby friends can hear your skull listening in on these geek mating calls.
However, please note you need to know your Morse code if you want to get your HAM radio license. There is probably an iPhone app that teaches that.
Oh, and “bezel” is pronounced like “bee-zill” rhymes with “weasel” (another word for British Petroleum executives)
