ParticipantGREAT post!
Get’s us all thinking about moving on opportunities, and how best to secure bargain pricing. My wife and I are definitly in position to do same, as our now renters with good cash flow, no debts.
Also, I’ll remind everyone of my post about a month or two ago, which many didn’t take seriously. That post warned of INFLATION raising up mortgage rates, making NOW the time to buy because mortgage rates will rise so far and fast that it won’t matter if housing prices keep falling for a couple years.
My wife and I are going to start looking with intent to buy forclosed properties. If mortgage rates go much higher, I will be writing “I told you so” because already inflation (or stagflation) has since (I wrote my post) become the hottest topic on news channels.
Be afraid of inflation, very afraid. If mortgage interest rates jump up to 10%, all this housing price decline won’t matter relative to actual monthly house payment.
Read Rich’s recent posts on inflation. Very very well written, as always.

ParticipantThis is why I enjoy this obscure website, piggington.com. I appreciate when people post stuff like this. That house is absurd it becomes true comedy, a form of entertainment – at least for us!
I prefer to enjoy reading a thread like this instead of flipping through cable TV channels.
To think, someone paid three quarters of a million dollars for that place, in Temecula! Moronic.
Definitely check out the “street level” view on Google Maps:

ParticipantFor whomever flamed Din Tai Fung, I’m amused how you explain you haven’t an opinion (or clue), so you try to borrow a clue from your few asian friends…to what? To pretend on here like you have clue?
The NYT ranks Din Tai Fung as one of the Top Ten restaurants in the world.
That’s an exceptional ranking, but I didn’t form my opinion from that. A month after I heard rumor of Din Tai Fung, I found myself in China in a room full of Chinese businessmen, who travel internationally and know their restaurants. In response to my asking “Anyone know this Din Tai Fung restaurant” I had a roomful of Chinese turn round in unison and say, “Best Xiaolongbao IN THE WORLD”
Then I personally went to the Beijing location of Din Tai Fung, with a group of Asian friends.
I was stunned at how exceptionally great is the food at Din Tai Fung, and the service, and the decor.
I travel so much on business to Asia, I believe I have eaten in probably over five hundred different Chinese restaurants across Asia, from Taiwan, to HK, to mainland China. I rank Din Tai Fung in the Top Five Chinese restaurants that I’ve ever dined at, over my entire life.

ParticipantThis thread is probably dead, but I’ll kick it more more time.
PF Chang’s?
At risk of being flamed, I tell about my recent POSITVE experience.First, yes you should make fun of anyone who thinks PF Chang’s is Chinese food. However, I also used laugh in ridicule if someone claimed PF Chang’s food tastes good. My recent visit changed that last assumption.
My boss took the project team there about a month ago. Eating family style with 20 people, almost every item on the menu was ordered, and I sampled them all as they were passed around our tables.
PF Chang’s has some entres that are quite good! It still isn’t authentic Chinese food, but nevertheless some it is very tasty, especially when someone else is paying the bill. However, I admit I wouldn’t eat there if I were paying out of my own pocket.
