It’s actually funny to joke about this stuff because none of us have a clue what could happen, nor have we ever experienced anything like it. If hyper-inflation takes control of society without any sort of drastic banking meltdown, I would assume things could essentially unfold slowly. Of course if we did have terrorist attack on the US, it could be devastating. Keep in mind Al-Qaida would love to see us as the next Roman Empire, so I am sure their architects are behind the drawing boards as we speak.
I also thought of some other interesting scenarios of how the system could really meltdown in a short period of time. What happens if the credit card crisis shuts down the ability to use a Visa or MC? I guess somewhat of a far fetched question, but society could not function without the use of credit cards. Many pile debt on debt, so for them, there isn’t money to draw out the banks.
Veritas is right if system fails you need a plan, not with one person, but many. Doesn’t matter how big an arsenal is, there is always a bigger one out there. The bummer for San Diegans is that Mexico really isn’t an option as an escape route. Canada would be much more of a viable option as long as you you had a warm winter coat.
On another note a buddy of mine last night watched CVS in 4S Ranch get robbed in the early evening (good thing he was able to get the license plate of the robbers). Maybe criminals are going to start pursuing the nicer neighborhoods because that is where the money is. Makes sense!

GITMO will only become an issue if someone released from there is able to launch a successful terrorist attack on the U.S. Otherwise, GITMO will be forgotten by 2012. If neither the U.S. nor U.S. interests are attacked between now and 2012, GITMO, Iraq, and even Afghanistan will likely be non-issues in 2012.
And if Obama is able to break Al Qaeda? You and Allan may be the only two people who vote Republican in 2012.
The Republicans may have to borrow the Army’s motto. But, instead of any army of one, it will be a party of one. LOL!
The focus really won’t be Al-Qaida. We really don’t have time to worry about terrorists at this point, exactly my reasoning for leaving GITMO alone until we resolve our economic issues at home. Once we solve the economic threat we move to international eye sores, such as GITMO. Allan and I have both mentioned the 2nd in command in Yemen. There is proof he is back to the drawing board. We let these guys go and they will cause destruction. While we fight an economic war, they fight a religious war. Trust me, they will strike us when we are most vulnerable.
Obama will never break Al-Qaida. This is a group that is willing to give up there lives for 40 virgins. They have a different thought process and they are breeding as fast as the Chinese.
I won’t vote Repub in 2012, I will be running as an Independent!

socratttParticipant
LMFAO! This thread is hilarious. Republicans used to be good at politics but you guys are now wandering around in the wilderness like a lost puppy.
Let me try and help you guys out. Most Americans don’t give a rat’s about Rezko, Ayers, or any other obscure person who once knew Obama in grade school. I had actually forgotten who these people were and had to think for a while to remember. Then it came to me, Rezko was that land-deal guy (right?) and Ayers was the preacher that right-wing nut jobs have glommed on to in an attempt to bring down Obama’s 70% approval rating. It ain’t going to work because most Americans (like me) have already forgotten who these guys are. If right-wing nut jobs are still bringing up these characters in 2012 when Obama has an 80% approval rating, I expect Obama to win all of the electoral votes. Republicans won’t win one state.
Let me tell you what Americans do care about:
(1) A level economic playing field. Obama is moving with amazing speed to level the economic playing field. His work in this area can only raise his already amazingly high approval rating.(2) Intelligent prosecution of the ‘War on Terror’. Obama is de-emphasizing Iraq and focusing on Afghanistan. Most Americans think this is the right move.
Anyhoo, I’ll let you righties get back to discussing irrelevant things. I look forward to Republicans receiving about 10% of the vote in 2012.

Now do I have to truly point out how ignorant you are once again?? There are plenty of left wingers here bashing Obama as well, so don’t think it is just right wing conservatives. I think for the most part there are a lot of moderates on this board. Just go back and read the posts here and realize how very few agree with you, even some of those that were in favor of Obama in November. You are the one who creates these asinine posts that encourage all views of the spectrum to chime in.
Forget Rezko and gang, just look at this week and you will get a feel for what is yet to come. Read my post above and if that doesn’t help you understand that Obama wasn’t ready to take control of this country then I don’t know what else to say!
I am not going to waste my time pointing everything out to you because your 1 and 2 points can be broken down and shoved down your throat and you wouldn’t see it. You have no clue about GITMO, 45% of this nation is against the closing of GITMO only 35% approve. Doesn’t sound like that many people want Al-Qaida terrorists in their backyards. Obama has no plan of where to put them and the number 2 in command of Al-Qaida in Yemen was released and is back to the drawing board of how to cripple the infidel (that would be you). But what do you care, you are just trying to hit your numbers.
Obama will save us all:
