ParticipantSeems that most of the apartments in the UTC area allow dogs now too. So it’s not just limited to the condo conversions.

Participant
If you hire professional movers just have them pick up your used pre-purchased washer/dryer on the day of the move. Our move included some unused stuff we had in an offsite storage locker. Worked out just fine.
Yeah I thought about doing that but paying them $80-90/hr to drive around and pick up a washer/dryer could get expensive quickly unless I found someone very local to buy from.

Participant
Consider buying new, if SD Water Dept participates in the current rebate program. There is a $300 rebate from southern California water agencies for these models. Not sure of SD water Dept participates but LA DWP does.
Thanks for the tip. I did some research and sure enough its available here:
http://www.sandiego.gov/water/conservation/washer.shtml
List of qualifying models:
http://socalwatersmart.com/images/PDFs/qualifying_list_hecw.pdfRetailers:
http://socalwatersmart.com/images/PDFs/retailers_hecw.xlsSeems like a pretty good deal but no discount on the dryer.
