That is a good idea. Use an oil-based primer, too.

ParticipantIf you haven’t already, try Dixieline. Their door/window people are pretty knowledgeable.
I can’t imagine not getting low-e built-in to the glass. Tint film is not durable and not terribly attractive.

ParticipantFrom what I recall, find products that say “odor neutralizing” on them.
Maybe consider some power sanding ? Smell probably soaked through deeper than you can sand, though.
