Participant

I have made a drink similar to a lemon drop, only w/ grapefruit.
For lemon drops, I use 1 part vodka, 1 part lemon juice, 1 part simple syrup.
For grapefruit drops, I use 1 part absolute grapefruit vodka (not liquer, vodka), 1 part grapefruit juice and 1/2 simple syrup. Sugar the rim if you like.
too sweet. Sweet drinks can hurt my head the next day.
Fair enough. Just back off on the simple syrup and/or bump up the vodka and/or change from grapefruit vodka to regular vodka as desired.
My wife tends to sweeter drinks, so I can get her drinking alot more by bumping up the simple syrup – which is important when you look like I do.
The thing is, fresh citrus loves vodka – almost as much as rum loves coke.
