ParticipantWow. That time corresponds exactly with my surgery last night. I was abducted by aliens who took out every organ in my body and replaced them with exact duplicates.

ParticipantI’m wondering if the Supreme Court will have the last say in this matter.
According to Mish:
http://globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com/2008/09/700-billion-bailout-proposal.htmlThe text of the proposal includes this:
Sec. 8. Review.
Decisions by the Secretary pursuant to the authority of this Act are non-reviewable and committed to agency discretion, and may not be reviewed by any court of law or any administrative agency.

Participant
You can’t be against bail-outs until you are certain of what the consequence of not doing so are going to be
Funny. I think of it just the opposite. Don’t do a $1.2 trillion bailout until you are certain of what the consequences will be. They will surely be bad.
The notion that market forces should be allowed to do its work, is fine in situations where they created the problem.
In that case, call your representatives and say you are all for the bailout as long as they abolish the Fed, stop borrowing money cuz THAT’S what created the problem.
I’m with Mish on this one:
What The Problem Really IsThe Fed
Fractional Reserve Lending
Congressional Meddling In The Free Market
Congressional Spending
An Unsound Currency
An Unsound Banking System

ParticipantThey may push the free market, but they haven’t lived up to it. That’s the problem. They talk free market, but in actuality manipulate the market significantly and hose everytyhing up. Then people think “free market” is bad. Open your eyes.
Don’t get me wrong – I’m OK blaming it on the Republicans and Greenspan, just so long as you don’t call them the “free market” crowd. They SHOULD be the free market crowd, but they let us down.
