Wow, $2000-$2500 a month for that! I think that is way too high for that these days based on what I am seeing rent in my area.
http://sandiego.craigslist.org/search/apa?query=clairemont&catAbbreviation=apa&bedrooms=4
Clairemont is expensive.
Not that part.
These are close:

I concur with FSD’s estimate on the rent.

Fair enough – in your zips.
Still, the point is – the hypothesis was that the availability of the internet information would affect the speed of corrections in either direction, not the level to which things correct.

ParticipantOne thing I have noticed about Clairemont (lived there for 12 years now) is that neighborhoods in Clairemont with 1-car garages are never very nice. Ranging from sort-of-sad to mild ghettoish.
As a place to live, I would never buy or suggest that anyone buy a 1-car-garage house in Clairemont.
No garage. Sad little neighborhood. 1/2 block from a high school. Ew. Ew. Ew. You definitely won’t get premium rent there, and tough to get quality tenant to bite.
I haven’t had a rental in Clairemont since I sold in 2005, but I would base any calcs on a fairly low rent for that place.
Price probably indicates a pocket deal.
