Participantdavelj – thanks for this information. I really appreciate the insight. Very interesting. Very twisted. The best word I can think of is “stuck.” The banks are stuck. I’d say – by their own glue, too.

Participant
Also, remember that most of these mortgages are ultimately held by securitization trusts (MBS) … So, servicers are losing their asses.
Thanks for your patience on this and explaining again. I admit I haven’t followed this topic well in the past.
So, let me get this straight. Lets say I own an MBS with 100 mortgages in it. I own it. I get money from the payments, but I lose a fee to the servicer who processes the checks, sends out payment coupons to the borrower, etc.
Don’t I as the owner make the decision to foreclose?
Doesn’t the servicer have to live up to some quality standard of how quickly they process foreclosures ?

ParticipantI’m OK with people, as individuals, bagging on this law, or arranging a boycott, but why is our government voting on Arizona laws that we can’t possibly control ?
We don’t pay our govt employees to manage Arizona’s government. The school board? Really? Did I miss the day where they were voted in as the new Supreme Court? Shouldn’t they be cutting budgets or something.

Participant
Well, considering the demographics, if Los Angelinos stop traveling to Arizona that may make a huge dent in their problem anyways.
Never thought of it that way! Those zonies are smarter than I thought! Likely more illegals will be heading our way or into New Mexico. Maybe the border patrol should set up on I-8 at the CA/AZ border and catch them coming to the state where illegals are not illegal. Huh ?
