ParticipantThat’s what my family did when we first moved down to San Diego and it’s been downhill ever since. Our next destination wasn’t exactly Fairbanks Ranch!
Seriously though, it hasn’t been that bad and I’m *almost* back, now living in your old ‘hood (CV).
That first summer in Del Mar was fantastic though. I was 15; we lived about a block from the beach (on one of the 20 streets, don’t recall exactly). After a tough day at the beach, we snuck into the fair every night and just cruised around. The only sketchy part of the day was making it across the railroad tracks. I also seem to recall eating a lot of pizza.
Anyway, welcome back! and thanks for sharing the tales of your journey with us.

ParticipantYeah, that’s what I thought too (must just have been fed), but only detourbeach knows for sure.
Mortgage interest is absolutely deductable for state taxes, so a big item to skip and the reason I pointed it out.
Some lucky b-tards in other states don’t have to pay state taxes, so that would seem to be the only other possibility. As I’d mentioned, the property tax seemed low for S.D.
Maybe the beach he’s detoured to is in a significantly different zipcode. I often forget that Piggington’s has worldwide reach!

ParticipantSimpler formulas for C9 and E9 are =ppmt(c6/12, 1, 360, $b3) and the tweak (or copy/paste) for E9. =ipmt should be used row 8.
