ParticipantThanks for the input asianautica. That’s interesting about the impact in both directions. I hadn’t thought of that.
Even if addressing the problem re: excess speculation is a “patch” it seems like an easy fix to at least stabilize things in the near term.
I am not against opening refineries or more drilling, but those are more long-term solutions as I understand it.

ParticipantPartyup,
Technically I said… “people LIKE jficquette & partyup” … you being an attorney might appreciate that clarification. I meant persons on this HOUSING site who wish to rant about politics with a lot of emotion & little factual support. I was unaware that you had only started one post, but given the fairly lengthy comments you’ve provided in this thread, I would be willing to consider this multiple posts… say half a dozen?

ParticipantAecetia,
That really is good idea. We’ve talked about that a lot. I still think the market there has some correcting to do (I’m thinking at least 2 more years), and I will continue to keep a close eye on things. Hopefully we’ll be in a position to invest by then.
In an odd way, Spokane really reminds me of 1970’s Poway or even Clairmont. It’s sad how over-developed San Diego has become, but I guess you can’t have a jewel like that locked up forever.
