ParticipantIt has been discussed but the economy seems to be in worse condition now than it did 6 months ago?
Right now my job is pretty secure but who knows how things play out in the next couple years.
If we do not buy soon we will certainly stock pile the cash reserves.
I would not be surprised if the RE market drops another 10% or more so it could really work for us to wait and save.

ParticipantI plan on having 6 months of reserves after our downpayment/closing costs are payed.
A couple of my friends have lost their jobs recently which was a big wake up call.
If the economy continues to tank and more jobs are lost I think it would be better to sit on the sidelines with cash?

ParticipantIm 34 so if I wait 11 years ill be 45. Ill have to get a 15yr mortgage at that point..ha
