Participant>>>> Yes, i know that’s crazy to spend $1150 per phone, but like I said, it’s a status symbol
I beleive you. Whenever I go overseas to developing countries, from Latin America, to Russia to Asia, anyone who’s anyone has a fancy phone.
I have an AT&T account and I’m going to try to get an iPhone for a friend in Asia, who has not asked, but whom I know would really appreciate that gift.
This afternoon, I went to the AT&T store and I ordered an iPhone that will be shipped to the store within 7 days. They will then email me to pick it up at the store where they will activate it.
The people who are waiting in line for 10 hours at the Apple store are nuts.
I know a guy here in San Diego who can unlock the iPhones. I still have to ask if he can do the new 3G.
I like technology but I only know enough to be dangerous. π

Participant[quote=fat_lazy_union_workerActually, the real reason why I’m buying these iphones is I plan on taking a few overseas and reselling them at 2x what they cost here. For some reason or the other, these phones are status symbols.
[/quote]
FLU, some questions for you:
a) Did you find a way to unlock and jailbreak the new iPhone? I know the old ones can be unlocked because I have one.
b) What will you do with the two year contract that you have to sign in order to buy the iPhone and activate it in the store? From what I understand, they won’t let you walk out the store without your having signed the contract.

ParticipantI believe that the investor involvement that SD Realtor is talking about reflect people who are looking at deals in relation to the peak. Those are bulls running who still believe in a V-shaped recovery.
Give it another couple of years and you’ll see prices collapse all around.
When I first joined this forum, people were arguing about the predicted number of foreclosures. Back then, few believed that we’d have millions upon millions of foreclosures before the bottom is reached.
