ParticipantRemember that is a large underground economy in San Diego.
Many do not pay taxes or find ways to avoid taxes altogether. For those people, buying makes absolutely no sense.

ParticipantHot head Shakashvili counted on America to come to his aid because of his cozy relationship with the Bush Administration.
Shakashvili did not think that Russia would intervene right during the Olympics.
But Russia knew of Georgian intents to attack Ossetia and prepared an overwhelming response.
Meanwhile, Bush is on vacation with his family in China and had no clue what was happening.
The Russians created a fait-accompli in Ossetia.
It’s too late do do anything and the Russians won.
Looking at the situation from an unbiased perspective, Shakashvili, got what he deserved for his hot temperament, and for helping the Americans in Iraq.
Russia seems to asking the question “what is your friend Bush doing for you, after you sacrificed for him?”
Unfortunately, America seems to have a habit of abandoning its friends.
It seems like the Georgian population is turning against Shakashvili and his government will fall. That will fit well with Russian interests.
