ParticipantI’ve got the perfect solution. For the size and luxury of RSF and the price of Chula Vista, buy a house in Amarillo, TX.

ParticipantI owned a house in a state with no income tax, and the sum total of my itemized deductions did not exceed the standard deduction; hence no tax benefit whatsoever from property tax or mortgage interest deduction.
But this is California. I’m sure most Piggs will have no problem exceeding the standard deduction based on state income tax alone.

Participant
This has to be the first clearly advertising thread where the original poster didn’t get slammed or heckled universally from Piggs.
Man, how things have changed. Affordability will do that, I guess.
The OP’s attitude certainly helps. Unlike some of the similar threads, he didn’t come here saying “hey poor idiot renters, quit throwing your money away on rent…” Combine the humbling of these last two years with the fact that Piggs are buying houses and yeah, times have changed.

ParticipantLooks like about a 1.5 mile walk to the sprinter…not bad.
$281 is pretty steep for a SFR. What does that pay for (the gate can’t possibly be that expensive)?
