I agree that Brian is not the main source of the degrading thread problem.
Rich, if you do want feedback, I will say that I don’t visit here much lately, and I don’t recommend the site to friends anymore. The doom-and-gloom extremist clique has pretty-much taken over. It’s pretty obvious who the offenders are. No tattling should be necessary.
Yeah, You hate the doom and gloom so much and what it does to this site, that you had to go dig up a “doom and gloom” post that had not been replied to since November of 2008. Interestingly enough, your doing so made outtamojo’s day.Trying to rub party pup’s nose in something looks bad too.Why not throw in picking a nice fight with her on another thread where she is getting along fine with others. Oh yeah, you did. This is the worst part of it. All this crying foul while instigating “free for alls” is what stinks to me.
Schadenfreude has been a big part of real estate bear culture -myself included. Imo, if you can’t take the nose rubbing, don’t prognosticate and certainly don’t sell your prognostication as if it were some kind of gospel.
Edit: just to be clear, I am not accusing you Russell of these things.

FLU: Whoever can print the most money wins.
“The best way to destroy the capitalist system is to debauch the currency. By a continuing process of inflation, government can confiscate, secretly and unobserved, an important part of the wealth of their citizens.” — John Maynard Keynes
I would add that whoever can also circulate the most money wins – that way you can confiscate the wealth of the world and not just your own citizens.

ParticipantI ignored them for as long as I could until the boot Brian thread came along. The problem with ignoring them imo, was that eventually they dominate the site and build enough critical mass to attract like minded kooks who are here only for political flaming.
I was gonna suggest to Rich that he have a politics only folder and keep it off the active topics list so
flamers could argue in the basement but I like his approach better.June 23, 2010 at 8:36 AM in reply to: Thanks Rich for cracking down on the purely politcal flame threads #569772outtamojo
