I do believe the Colorado shooter was a quiet nerd…
ocrenterParticipantjudgement, seems like such an innocent act… until you are judged.
and once you are judged, acts of unthinkable cruelty can be brought against you because the judgement now serve as evidence that you deserve the very worse.
–a group of people has been judging the US. We are too lax of a society. Our women are just whores. We are a society of decadence and greed. Our government is a bully and we throw our weight around where it isn’t wanted.
We were judged by these people, and they decided to take action. Yes thousands of innocent people were killed. Yes thousands of children are now fatherless or motherless. But that’s ok in their eyes. Because they judged, and they determined in their judgement that the punishment fits our crime.
So who is to say your judgement any better than theirs?
So let’s start a war to figure it out!
ocrenterParticipant

Wonderful – a cult of high achieving, Asian kids who know self defense and can kick people’s butts. (Weren’t you training your daughter in martial arts?)
I’m never moving to Carmel Valley – I’m worried the highly trained FLU-cult kids could beat up AND out test score my kids.
The only hope is that I can send in a bunch of mutant rabbits (maybe zombie rabbits) to eat their yard. Nah – the FLU-cult kids would kick the zombie rabbit’s butts.
No wait… We’ll eat the rabbits. Then we won’t have to use the food stamps. We’ll go to some shaddy convenience store and offer to trade the food stamps we don’t need for hard cold cash…And then buy expensive designer purses, just to keep up with appearances…
btw, it is against the FLU-cult to listen to rap music and watch TV.
ocrenterParticipant

at this rate there is gong to be no tax advantage to owning a home, because there is going to be no interest involved.
hey, what an ingenious way to take away the mortgage tax deduction and RAISE taxes! :)
Well, shit. I hate how the government keeps bailing out folks that are considered “not-rich”…So if this happens.. I’ve decided a new way to get my money back from the government.
I’m going to have lots of kids…Nice hefty deduction per kid… If I have say 9 kids, and before that spend all my money, then I’ll get sufficient tax subsidies and maybe even be able to collect foodstamps and free medicine, which will probably be better than my current healthplan anyway.. Well shit, medi-cal coverage is greater than medicare in a lot of cases, so I wouldn’t be surprised…Even in carmel valley. Yeah, 9 kids… Maybe not enough. Make that 15….
And then I’ll start a cult with my 15 or so kids…That why, I can consider my cult a religion. And then if I’m a leader of it, it means that I’ll need a place of worship. Hence, my home will then become a temple, and then I’ll be exempt from paying property taxes.
in order for the cult to work, you may need multiple wives to rapidly increase your number…
…wait a minute… this script sounds mightily familiar…

September 24, 2012 at 2:48 PM in reply to: OT: Lol…. San Diego UT now requires subscription for a lot of the articles… #751798ocrenterParticipantI actually find the ads in UT more objective than the articles.

In other places where I own, they print a list each month of the actual balance of all the people in the building so you can see when your neighbors are behind. But even that doesn’t seem to always work.
That actually sounds like a really good idea, if the non-paying owner is actually engaged in the community, but most likely the non-payer would be one of those “drive in and garage down” types.
I have to say the Santaluz model of cutting cable/internet/gate transponder is one of the best I’ve heard of.
ocrenterParticipant
ALL of the Governments “resources” come from the taxpayers. The government has no money of its own. He WAS talking about redistribution of wealth, he WAS exactly talking about redistribution of wealth, and he was ONLY talking about redistribution of wealth.
Spin it any way you want, he is a socialist, and that means he wants to redistribute wealth. AND, ACCORDING TO YOUR QUOTED ARTICLE, HE ADMITS IT.“Pooling resources” = taxing those that have.
“Government systems” = the IRS
“Facilitate SOME redistribution” = redistribution according to socialist dogma.“Foster innovation” = something that will NEVER happen. A socialist wet dream.
by that very definition, anyone that espouses the idea of having a government that collects taxes IS a socialist.
ocrenterParticipant
Yes, many Americans are ignorant (especially when it comes to $$$), and the most ignorant are generally the poorest.
agree, that’s why someone can run a whole campaign based on truncated quotes and misinformation and probably still get close to 50% of the vote.
ocrenterParticipant
When it comes to money and the economy, who do you want running the country: Someone who knows how to make money or someone who knows only how to “redistribute” money others have earned?
Here’s the actual quote from Obama circa 1998:
“I think there have to be technical issues that have to be dealt with as opposed to just political issues, how do we structure government systems that pool resources and hence facilitate some redistribution, because I actually believe in redistribution, at least at a certain level to make sure that everybody’s got a shot. How do we pool resources at the same time as we decentralize delivery systems in ways that both foster competition, can work in the marketplace, and can foster innovation at the local level and can be tailored to particular communities.”
The guy wasn’t even talking about redistribution of wealth. but instead how to remanage government resources and redistribute via decentralized delivery systems.
This one is almost as bad as the “you didn’t built it” misquote.
This is getting really sad when the campaign is purely built on truncated opposition quotes.
ocrenterParticipantI was just looking at few parochial elementary schools. I figured that would be the base.
ocrenterParticipant
For example, since the digital cable and high speed Internet are included in the HOA fees, you stop paying and they cut off access to that.
Also, the entire development is controlled by high tech stickers that you have on your car windshield or license plates to allow you entrance in one of several entrances into Santaluz.
They can deactivate those so it’s not convenient and you have to go through the security guard each time which I imagine could be much slower and a pain vs. the automatic gates which automatically open and have a separate lane.
They also mentioned they don’t hesitate to “rapid filing of small claims court actions to secure judgments”.
wow, that certainly works. hey, maybe the security guards are even given instructions to harass the delinquents.
ocrenterParticipant
I’d be spending a whole lot more sending my kids to a private school vs. PUSD schools. If I lived in another area within the SDUSD, I’d definitely have to send my kids to private school which would cost a fortune.
average private school would be approx $6k per year, x 12 = $72k.
I’ll just pay the MR, thank you very much… =)
ocrenterParticipant

ER, Dolinka’s estimates is pretty much on target with my MR. So doubt you’ll get any surprises going with the estimate until you are ready to do the payoff.
I agree, the more I look into it, especially given PUSD’s recent funny business with bonds, the MR payoff makes a lot of sense for long term home owners.
Thanks ocrenter. Hopefully it’s on the lower end of their estimate rather than the higher end. 🙂
I just sent off the letter to PUSD this morning requesting the pay off quote and mailed the $100 so looking forward to getting that.
Yes, I just figured this totally makes sense for any homeowners that are confident they will be in their house long-term. We definitely won’t be moving, already did the renovations on the house and have it perfect how we want to live in it for the foreseeable future.
The only wildcard I can think of is if we have twins or triplets when we go for our 3rd child next year. LOL. In that case I guess I’d have to turn my home office into another bedroom. ;)
btw, they should have told you the interest rate on the MR as well. for mine we were looking at 5% and 7.5%. Which again makes the decision to pay it off a relatively easy one as well.
