Participantcurrently there are 46 SFRs in Carlsbad for sale meeting the following criteria:
–over 2000 sqft
–newer than 1980
–less than $600kif we expand the search to less than $650k, we get 73 SFRs for sale. 27 of the offerings are at least 500 sqft bigger than the subject at hand. restricting to just Carlsbad schools, we are still looking at 40 SFRs.
this house is a typical mid 80’s tract home. it is unique in ONE major feature: it is ALL garage, where’s the house???

Participant
It’s still higher than its 2003 price, which means that it really isn’t that great of a deal. We were well into bubble territory by then. There are other homes that have been selling for their 2000-2002 prices (a very few have sold for even less than that).
That being said, it stood out to us, too, when it was first listed, mostly because of the large yard, and because it seemed relatively clean and well-maintained.
I agree. At least $100k above 2003 pricing. $/sqft at $300/sqft!!! Way too much especially given how Carlsbad was quite overbuilt during the bubble days. also with base white square tiles in bathroom/kitchen. not a bargain at all.

Participantdid some comparison on tire pricing recently. Bear’s Tires in Miramar came in quite well. In and out very quickly as well.

Participant

Does anyone know if you can cut through MCAS Miramar on Rifle Range road on the way to Balboa? Looks like I’m getting orders back to SD next summer :)!!!! and if I could bypass Pomerado on the way to the 163 Stonebridge is looking like a real possibility for us.
Not possible doc…one way in and one way out (unless the fire escape routea are opened and those aren’t any easier to travel)
Pomerado is just bad news, folks traveling south in the AM or into SR in the afternoon should take the Carroll Canyon exit. I wonder why no one ever talk about expending that street.
