The schools are, I’m pretty sure, Poway school district. You hear they’re great, and I’m sure they’re fine. But I think they’ve overrated. Anyway, they’re not as good as the schools that you go to if you live in the more western parts of Carmel Valley.
In short, there are reasons the house is less than 600k. Which is not to say that it’s not worth it (nor that it is). Just a few observations.
best way to find out if its poway schools would be this site:
http://powayusd.sdcoe.k12.ca.us/depts/bss/planning/addresslookup.asp
the address did not come up, so doubt it is within PUSD.
there’s another tract of larger true SFR further east (torrey del mar). they are PUSD.
2nd the concern for the fwy noise. there will be fwy noise. just factor that in as part of your personal equation about the house.

Participant
The park keeps getting pushed out. The last I heard is at the end of 2011 construction will start. No rush. The master plan does not have any commercial building proposed.
Localguy
I wonder how difficult it would be to have the city change the zoning from the original master plan.

Participant

Count me in the fair hating crowd. They are only slightly more fun than parades, which are only slightly better than a blunt object to the eye.
I also hate the fair. Why pay to go somewhere where hawkers want to sell you overpriced junk.
The fair is for country folks who’ve never been to the city.
the fair is a great way to see the cross section of ppl in San Diego. our social circle generally run tight with like minded folks that are our peers in occupation and social status. the fair forces us to break out of that circle and experience the public at large.
unfortunately, the picture isn’t pretty. I knew obesity is an epidemic. but the degree of which that is truly out there out in the general public at large is unreal. I know for most piggs it is quite unpleasant. but every year you should make it a point to go out there just to see what the rest of San Diego look like.
The disadvantage of living in a city built around the car is that you don’t see people walking around on the streets.
The worse part of meeting fat people is on the plane. They overflow onto your space and you can’t avoid them.
BTW, obesity is moving up the social ladder pretty quickly. Our standards have changed and the clothing sizes have changed.
Do you think that, our Mayor, Jerry Sanders is fat? I think so. He was worse before he lost weight.
you are correct. but at the fair, you get to see the severely morbid ones. the ones so fat that they need to drive around on motorized scooters while downing fried chocolate dipped bacon.

very good video. the guy is right on when he ventured into social classes and differentiating between how the locals live and how you live. just remember this: these guys live in abject proverty all of their lives, but have access to plenty of dubbed American TV and movies. They all have preconceived stereotype of what you are made of, which is money, and plenty of it. all of your transactions and encounters with the locals will begin with that in their head. not a good way to live IMHO.
