ParticipantAs of this January I’m break-even rent/own. Been here 10 years and my calcs are based on what I was paying in rent 10 years ago when I bought. Kinda wish I sold at the peak but oh well, I still live here.

Don’t let that scare you away though. No place is impervious to such crimes. Even in the “best” part of Mira Mesa (off Calle Cristobal) things happen.

ParticipantFYI a little OT but I put an electronic lock with button keypad on my front door about 2 years ago. I will never go back to keys.
With the electronic one I can set multiple access codes and even log who entered and when. This cost me about $100 and the installation (which I did myself). With this system who needs a lockbox?
