ParticipantI don’t have such confidence, although I do agree it is highly unlikely. If houses like that ever get to $250k I’ll buy a couple but will be SOL on my condo for another decade or so… I hope it ages well. Land-lordship here I come!
BTW I think Mira Mesa is a great place to live… Close to work, good restaurants, now we even have a Fresh and Easy and the new BevMo next door!

ParticipantIt doesn’t surprise me either. Those homes are nice, very tempting. Even last year they were tempting at $550k… in 2006 at $650k.

Participant
I personally HATE condo because of nosy HOA people having nothing better to do than telling you want you can/can’t put in your balcony, front porch, etc.
I was going to mention that as well but have debated the pro vs. con of HOAs on this and other blogs many times… Luckily my HOA has been reasonable and it is easy to follow the rules while maintaining a nice area; however, next time I buy it will be non-HOA, even if my neighbor does decide to grow corn on the front lawn.February 9, 2009 at 6:20 PM in reply to: Mira Mesa half-mil $ condos vs. bigger, better, cheaper sfrs #343843nostradamus

ParticipantGood points by racer. My abscess was discovered by the dentist who then sent me to the oral surgeon for removal. Funny, when I was awake, high on nitrous oxide (laughing gas), the Steve Miller song Fly Like an Eagle came on in their office… I think they did it to trip me out. I recommend it!
