ParticipantThanks! I pretty much enjoy everything! Even the crappy wines make me appreciate more the good ones when they come along. I don’t know who recommended the Colombia Crest cab but it’s nice. I also had a nice BV private reserve (Napa) ’05 cab on Sunday… Man is it too early to start drinking yet?

ParticipantShoulda shorted Alcoa, mayer’s pick.
Just FYI the four bad bears graph has been updated today. It will be cool to see in a couple weeks whether we’re still tracking 1929.

ParticipantI never met any wine that didn’t go with any food. I never understood why pairing wine with food was necessary. I guess my tongue isn’t so refined. Cabs are my favorite, had one last night with a nice ossobuco alla milanese. Can’t think of anything better.

Participant
As I commented in another thread that you posted this… Why is this news? The way Prop 13 works, taxes go up around 2% every year. Even when property values go up 20%, even when property values decline 20%. Because prop 13 sets the assessed value at your purchase price, and increments it based on that… NOT on current market.
It’s news ‘cuz it’s in the news. I added it here because the thread is about the advantages of renting over buying. As you pointed out, taxes always go up… So there’s argument #13 to rent.nostradamus
