ParticipantWow, how could I forget the impressive logic in “stick it to the billion-dollar corporation”? Actually I’m quite concerned so for all the Marions and Stellas out there:
warning: sex causes babies
warning: falling down stairwells may cause harm
warning: drills drill
warning: hole punchers punch holes
warning: staples staple things
warning: glue makes things stick together
warning: matches cause fire
warning: scissors cut things
warning: bleach is poisonous
warning: hot things are hot and it is not recommended that you pour them on your vaginaHow about this: “special” consumers like Stella get tattoos on their foreheads saying “Warning: this person may hurt herself and sue you.” Has anyone seen “Idiocracy”? It was funny but also kinda scary… Check it out! We’re getting there!
Also check out these lawsuits. Some of them are hilarious, all of them are a rude awakening about law in this fine, young country.

ParticipantYeah I remember those hot apple pies. Remember when they used to have cherry as well? As a child I burned my lips many a time on those… And it was worth it! Dang I should have sued but if you told me I’d find 12 people dumb enough to side with me I wouldn’t have believed it… Now I’m much older and wiser!

ParticipantHmmm… If I were a builder I might think now would be a good time to build… materials and labor are cheap at the moment.

ParticipantWhoa I find this absurd. Are you guys litigators?
Stella, for whom the famous Stella Awards for ridiculous lawsuits are named, ordered a hot drink and burned herself with it. Whether 1, 100, or 1000 idiots before her complained of the same thing, it only proves there are a lot of idiots out there.
More about Stella:

The coffee in question was 180 degrees. The National Coffee Association recommends coffee be brewed at “between 195-205 degrees Fahrenheit for optimal extraction” and drunk “immediately”. If not drunk immediately, it should be “maintained at 180-185 degrees Fahrenheit.”
Coffee and tea are typically made by boiling or evaporated water (can’t get any hotter than that). Are we to invent some new process so it won’t be so hot?
Is there no such thing as personal liability any more? Is everything someone else’s fault? One thing brought up on that lawsuit was that there wasn’t a “proper warning label” that… DUH… coffee is hot.
I completely side with Mickey D’s on this one and I too would have shrugged off any complaints that “the hot drink I ordered is hot”. whut the fack?
