ParticipantHey if it makes you happy, splurge. We are all adults. They should be aware, though, that splurging is not saving so if at the end of it all they are confused as to why there’s no money, THEN I would question their sanity. The same goes if you’re buying fancy jeans and other luxuries while you are not feeding yourself or your family properly. But if you feel happy having a negative or 0 net worth then so be it.
I hope when I die my net worth is 0 or a huge, negative number. That is, unless I have children. But I sure as hell wouldn’t spend extra money on fancy jeans or handbags or anything like that… I’d rather wear trashy jeans and spend money on travel!

ParticipantGreat example rustico. Now the house is for sale at $229k, or -26% from Feb 05.
Enorah, I get the “uh-oh” feeling every time I catch a minute of tv news… If it’s not the market crashing it’s the fire, it’s not fire it’s the big earthquake which is going to hit us at any minute, when there’s not enough of that going on it’s terrorism, when they’re bored with that it’s something in my house or in my water or in my food that can kill me…
I can understand TG’s “drink heavily” slogan. You practically need to be sedated to NOT have an uh-oh feeling in this time of readily-available, sensationalistic news.

ParticipantIn conclusion, be sure to focus on the issues that are important to you. Don't blindly follow a perspective that may be biased.
Thanks Jason, I agree and I have focused on the issue: The issue is the bailout. I am against the bailout. And I don't blindly follow a perspective: like, for example, if someone who is also against the bailout but they are right-wing, I don't try to diminish the validity of their petition just because they are right-wing. This is blind generalization.
I strongly encourage others to focus on the issue: sign the petition and stop the bailout. Don't care too much about who is backing a particular petition, if it comes from enough angles it may just make a difference and the least it can do is send a strong message.
Leave your bipartisanship at home, this issue is greater than that. Personally I'm on the fence as far as party goes, but if possible please point me to the left-wing anti-bailout petition and I will sign that as well. Point me to all the anti-bailout petitions, I am focused and will sign them all.
