ParticipantHi jp,
That kitchen looks about as updated as the Brady Bunch house. You’re looking in Bay Park as well as pb, huh? Anyway, I have no experience doing full renovations on homes so I’m sitting tight and hoping something close to what I want comes on the market.
A 95-year-old predates baby boomers by over 30 years. She is pre-boomer, pre-ww1, pre-ww2, pre-USSR, and much, much more! Her son or possibly grandchildren are boomers.
Does anyone here actually know any boomers that are retiring/selling their homes?

ParticipantStradivarius,
I was told by the chef at Ruth’s Chris that the best place to buy meat is Costco. I’ve gotten a lot of good meat there, and also from Whole Foods but they’re quite expensive. I typically wouldn’t buy meat from the Asian markets.
It’s great that you found Sushi Ota. He’s a good guy, I’ve been going there for about 17 years.

Participantsduuuuude,
Try Ba-Ren over on Diane ave. in Clairemont (go West on Clairemont Mesa from the 805, turn right on Diane, it’s on the right). After the change in ownership (over a year ago I think) of Spicy City, I started going there.
They have two menus- one for ‘mericans and one for Chinese, and the items are totally, totally different. I love their “dry cooked lamb” but they have many wonderful, spicy dishes which burn you twice. Lots of fish and seafood dishes too.
Bon Appétit!
