1. why not wait for interest rates to go up which will bring home prices down. then pay in cash!
2. make sure he’s keeping this cash in a safe place! not Wamu or Wachovia, for example.

ParticipantI like the idea of giving back a sob story. Tell her you have cancer and need the money for chemo. (no offense to the real cancer sufferers out there). Or tell her you missed a mortgage payment and are getting foreclosed on.
If she doesn’t have the money, going to court won’t change anything (except make some lawyers happy).

ParticipantIt seems to look at the financial statements of the banks, which is all anyone can do.
According to the tool, wamu is pretty much f’d.
The two other banks I use are good.
