Don’t help long term to resolve the economic woes of the country.

Thats why I always save. I was layed off from a six figure tech job in November and the stupid EDD unemployment screwed up my unemployment. I had a short 4 week contract job in December that helped a lot but now its been almost a month with no job and no EDD unemployment. If I had not saved, I would be homeless and hungry.
Finally I have job offer but there is no such thing anymore
as job security. One must save to survive downturns.I learned this in 1993 and 2002 when last 2 major recessions hit me and I had a tough run to find a job with less experience out of college in 1993 and 2002 was a nuclear winter in the US job market after the dot com implosion.
