Participant
jficquette… do you ever shut up?
In case you were wondering, your constant rabid rants get a little boring, especially as misinformed and heavily cliche-ridden as they are.
And I’m not even really an Obama fan…
At least explain what information is wrong in his post. The “Shut up!” post is ust as frustrating and silly as any other I have seen.

Participant

Not going to go through them all, but
1. Offended the Queen of England.
I think that’s because Michele Obama touched the Queen and put her arm around her (not exactly protocol towards a sovereign). To some, a Black woman touching a White Queen is an offense.
Oh, how far we’ve come!
Why would an American care about offending the Queen? Didn’t we kick the Brits out?
The real-a-la-Palin Americans I’ve met can’t even hold forks and knives properly. I can just imagine Palin in the presence of the Queen, haha..
I have to agree with Brian on this one. F&$# the queen! It should be seen as the queen offending the US by expecting us to treat her as a “sovereign”.
I also have to agree that Obama so far has not impressed me t all. In many ways he has been a disappointment.

ParticipantI’d like to point out how stupid the “if we just didn’t spend money on the war, we could afford health care” argument is. Wars are temporary and a excellent example of the kind of thing that should go on the “credit card” since they can not be budgeted. The health care reform act is a LONG term expense that many people agree will cost the country much more than congress is saying. I can see the memo now. “Dear world, please do not attack us. We have decided to spend our money on health care instead of wars. Sincerely, USA”

I think it is best not to pile on any additional debt for ANY reason.
Government needs to spend on programs society deems important.
If we spend the money on health care, then we’ll be constrained in war and other adventures.
I just went to the dentist. My bill, before insurance payment was about $220 (x-rays and cleaning). I noticed that a lot of people have terrible teeth but they’ll spend money on other things.
But if they spend money on dental care first, then they’ll be healthier. They just have to give up something else (perhaps cable TV or brand name clothing).
The same principle applies to society as a whole. We should prioritize health care at the top of the list of needs and cut back on things we don’t need.
So, we only got into the war because we had too much loose change burning a hole in out pockets?
