What are you correcting? I was simply asking what went wrong at that office and using your reported success as an example of how sales are being made even as the market slows. We are not deep into this yet.
I qualified my comments since I do not have any “proof” that you are doing so well and didnt want anyone jumping down my throat about it… Certainly didnt expect you to be the one doing it… but whatever.
lostkittyParticipantYet another a$$#@le comment by sdrealtor.
Lookoutbelow – love the “ownership phallacy” term. Intentional misspelling I presume? Funny… and appropriate!
lostkittyParticipantI’ve noticed an increase in little old ladies working at department stores, restaurants, etc. Hobbling around painfully on their artificial hips… This is not right.
lostkittyParticipantLookoutbelow – Have you read the series of books about Josphine Bonaparte – by Sandra Gulland? I read them both before and again after 9/11. It was spooky to read them after – so many parallels to our current situation politically – add to this RE collapse, healthcare costs, stock declines, pension reform(theft of pensions from the worker) and we really are setting up for public unrest. Hopefully not of the guillotine variety.

We were a military family and we are glad to be out. Most quality individuals were getting out, but we were stuck due to a pay-back for a certain program my husband went through. When we were finally able to get out, we did…
S@#t floats to the top in the military… I hate to say that, but that is what we saw. Every thinking person got out (gross generalization).I’ve got two different neighbors on my street who are returning to their native countries because they dont like the direction that the US is heading. Dont want to raise their kids in this political atmosphere… (one, a university professor – Canadian, the other a married pair of oncologists from Europe).
This ‘bully or be bullied’ approach is all wrong.
lostkittyParticipantI have no idea…how can we know for certain. Are there statistics in those populations reports as to where people actually GO when they leave CA?
Saw the striking increase in prices (+65% in 9 mo!) and the decrease in inventory and wonder if it is is due to people leaving CA. I’ve heard so much talk about Californians going to Texas. the numbers show something is certainly happening in Salt Lake as well. All speculation?
We have a pilot friend (lives in Salt Lake) who has taken it in the shorts by Delta’s — agressive pay-cuts– Now he has gotten involved in real estate buying/fixing/selling (as well as still flying) – making more money at that then as a pilot – sad.
lostkittyParticipantMy favorite is on page 7 or 8 – the guy sitting in his “minicasa”.
Apparently owning a home (vs renting) is highly valued in Spain, and the younger generations are ticked off because of the wild speculation – many many homes sit empty while they are stuck living with parents since incomes are nowhere near what is needed to buy the average home. So… they took to the streets to protest.
What ever happened to “dontbuyahouse.com” ? Working on it still?
lostkittyParticipantMaybe you read a tone in my post? I said i was taking him at his word.
I have said repeatedly here that there are certain things he’s said about being a realtor, helping people find the right home for them, etc that i liked. Maybe this is why he is doing well?
I was merely asking a question. I want to know why, with so many listings, that offices would be closing already. Seems early in the game for this. That is all. No need to make any inferences.
lostkittyParticipantI wonder what is wrong with that company? sdrealtor says he is on track for his ‘best year ever’ relying only on realtor.com listings and word of mouth… Per his suggestion: we shouldnt trust anyone saying a realtor is good without documents to prove it, and he has not provided any, but I will take him at his word… Closing whole offices suggests a bit more than some small thinning of the ranks.

http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/cold.war/experience/the.bomb/deployment/
The list of countries in possesion of them that can be characterized as run by fanatical governments is certainly longer than 2… and also very subjective. I am certain that Bush’s religious leanings (and words) could be characterized by some as fanatical. Why do we get to decide who has nukes and who doesnt?
It is precisely this mind-set that pisses off the rest of the world… and having lived abroad for extended periods – i can tell you that pissed off they are. They are pissed in South America, in Japan, in England, etc etc. We are not doing any good over in Iraq. Killing is worse, quality of life is much worse, – instead we let tens of thousands of our military personnel get maimed and killed. FOR WHAT? Show me one thing that was worth all this?
Getting rid of Saddam alone was not worth this.
We have increased instability in the region, not stability.
We’ve spent so much money it is just mind-boggling. I read that the debt during this presidency has surpassed the debt of ALL past presidencies COMBINED. Show me what we got for it!
The 9/11 plan was to destroy us financially as well as killing several hundred people (they got lucky and killed more). Destroying us financially they are succeeding at. Scramble as we may, the national debt is coming due eventually. Not worth it…
lostkittyParticipantPD – Here is the video… It is an on-going jooke on real estate blogs.. this ad is so ridiculous…
lostkittyParticipantJust a joke referring to the recent RE ad on tv… Didnt you see it?
lostkittyParticipantMaybe she should ask Suzanne.
June 13, 2006 at 7:00 PM in reply to: Foreign politics/policy discussions on this forum – a suggestion #26756lostkittyParticipantPD- Do you think we should have gone into Iraq?
PS – Have you read “Reading Lolita in Tehran”? Great book, and it is a glimpse into the way things have changed there politically, and for the individual citizens. No doubt, there is an element of fanaticism in control – however, I feel that globally speaking, there are NUMEROUS countries that can be described in such a way – several of them already in possession of nuclear capabilities – so why Iran? why now? Why Iraq? I think these are the questions that Bush supporters need to ask…
Black gold, Texas tea… Next thing you know ole’ Jed’s a millionaire, kin folks said….
