January 18, 2007 at 4:20 AM in reply to: Preforclosure to forclosure rates — steady? going up? #43657lostkittyParticipant
I’ve noticed a big increase in preforeclosures/foreclosures in newer areas (EastLake, Carmel Valley) The older neighborhoods do have some, but not at the same rate.
Another thing I’ve noticed is very disturbing, and that is the disproportionately high percentage of foreign sounding last names on those pre-foreclosure lists. I know many of you have uncovered actual plots/scams within cultural groups in certain towns, but what about the good people caught up in this???
When renting a house in Japan I was very much at the mercy of the realtor. I couldnt understand a word of what they were talking about, and had to trust that all those fees and such were legitimate. I wanted and needed a home, so I did what they asked…
Luckily, I was treated with respect and all went well. I cannot imagine what I would have done had I discovered later that my monthly bill was skyrocketing and my home, my children’s home, my neighborhood, my income and future income, my entire life would all be affected/taken away as a result. As someone yelled on another thread about hoping all the people from other states would just get foreclosed on and “go home!”, this may very well happen to some of these foreigners, but is this the way we want to interact with the world?
Talk about a lack of morals… the mortgage industry needs some serious disciplining, and the average US citizen needs some cross-cutural sensitivity training.lostkittyParticipantjg-
I would say that our chances of being killed or injured by terrorists has dramatically INCREASED in the last six years. The ranks of terrorists has dramatically increased as well.
Just ask the 22,714 Americans injured, and the 3,018 dead… oh wait, cant ask that group… Sadly, they are gone forever.
“Disagreeing” with this administration’s tactics in response to 9/11 is not enough. Everyone should be outraged, furious with them & their response. Things are worse without question.

lostkittyParticipantMaybe you are looking at different towns than I am. My notes are very specific.
lostkittyParticipantDont tell him PC – he’ll search out your personal details and find some way to ridicule you here. He has a history of it….
I noticed a huge number of new homes come on zipRE today in those very same North County neighborhoods. last year it was around the 19th or 20th of January that things started increasing, and there were occasional dips and plateaus along the way until inventory really started increasing in late March/early April.
lostkittyParticipantjg – Your tone is decidedly different in this post than in most of your others. I hope that is because you agree about the hypocrisy of repeatedly saying you are such a devout Christian while constantly verbally attacking and passing judgement on people…. some ruthlessly.
This behavior would not make Jesus very pleased, but he would offer love and support to an angry soul who behaved in this way.
lostkittyParticipantlostcat –
Did you intentionally copy my screen name? If so, then why?
lostkittyParticipantjg – You’ve pounded your bible and told us about your superior values so many times that we cant even hear you anymore. Maybe you should start swearing – it would add some color to your words.
Certainly your constant harsh judgement/criticisms of others’ lifestyles is not a Christian, loving , way of behaving. Your endless attacks on people… also not very Christian.
lostkittyParticipantI like your vocabulary Breeze, and your comments too. I agree wholeheartedly. Nutjobs.
lostkittyParticipantNo problem! You are welcome…
lostkittyParticipantHi SD Realtor:
Let’s just say we are both right…! I think there is probably extended information you can get by paying, but there is also more than enough that is free.
How much info does one really need anyway?
lostkittyParticipantThanks for all the responses! Keep ’em coming…
I am in agreement PC, there is just SO much out there, and so much that i am interested in, I made it a policy not to pay for anything. I’d be broke with my long list of hobbies and interests.
I considered subcribing to the magazine Consumer Reports so i could have the free access to their site, but in the end did neither. Decided I could get any issue off the shelf at the library or at the drugstore when/if I really was interested (which turned out to be never).
lostkittyParticipantmistake
lostkittyParticipantJust checked, still works, and here is the main page from the same site so you can see maps too :
http://www.sdarcc.com/arcc/services/assessor_maps_links.aspx
(but they are really blurry) and recent sales (only last few years – zillow is better for that)
have fun…
