Sweet!
91x will be there, as will Cliff Bar, and Sobee.
We’re anticipating around 600-700, but you never know.
One year the event coincided with the Republican National Convention, and we had 1200 people show up.
If anyone does come on a boogie board, bring fins, because it’s a long way around the pier.
Beer garden opens at noon. Stone beer is $4.00/cup. If you re-use your cup, it’s $3! We think it’s a nice incentive to conserve. If only all conservation efforts came with that incentive, no?
Glad you can make it, Tommy. Please come find me. (I should probably organize another Piggington meet-up one of these days – always like to meet all you folks face-to-face.)
lindismithParticipantso a 1/4 point, huh?
isn’t that just postponing the inevitable?
BTW, Chrisscoreboard emailed my Friday – said he was exiting the market. Check out http://iamafuturestrader.blogspot.com/
lindismithParticipantthat’s pretty cool, citydweller. So, where did you get your bus schedule? And trolley schedule? Can you find stuff online?
I’ve been thinking about taking the trolley to work. It would still involve a little walking, but I’m thinking about taking my bike for those parts. Can you take a bike on the trolley?
Also, what about going out at night with friends? How do you manage that?
Lastly, have you hear of noimpactman? He’s my hero!
lindismithParticipantDo you think that the power just goes to their heads? It’s like they don’t have both feet on the ground?
These hedge funds that keep imploding are the same situation: these managers know what they’re doing. Are they just playing a game until the gig is up? It’s like they’ve got that much money that if the thing collapses it just doesn’t matter to them.
How much did Greenspan personally make out of this whole debacle?
Who can enlighten me?
I work my ass off, and the people in charge seem to be taking advantage of me at every corner. I didn’t sign up for this.
lindismithParticipantRegarding Greenspan: I have a hard time believing what he’s saying. He had teams of people running all kinds of analysis on the situation. I just have to imagine that someone spoke up at some point.
lindismithParticipantyeah JWM, the lowering rates issue just prolongs the pain. We need a correction. We just don’t want a big jolt. We need a slow, ease-into-it correction. This takes finesse. I don’t know if Bernanke can manage that.
lindismithParticipantHere are some of my favorite:
Point Loma Seafood’s calamari sandwich
How the Grinch Stole Xmas in Balboa Park each year
Barbarella’s fungi pizza after surfing at the Shores
Drinks at Mister A’s – great views!
Hiking Cowels mountain in La Mesa on a Sunday a.m.
Naked cafe in Solana Beach for breakfast
UCSD’s lecture series called Revelle Forum
Biking around Mission Hills checking out old properties
Taking a kayak or boat out to listen to a concert at Humphreys
Bonfires on Moolight Beach in Encinitas
OB Farmers Market on Wednesdays – what a zoo!August 29, 2007 at 9:36 PM in reply to: Why is Texas dirt cheap compared to California for real estate? #82514lindismithParticipantI have friends who want to move to Portland. Is there a good Piggington-type site for them?
lindismithParticipantbuyorhold,
how did you pick your agent?
and, what does your user name have to do with your perspective? (If you know about Piggington, then surely you know to do your homework on a listing price, so do you really need to sell, or are you just testing the market?)
Bugs is an appraiser who posts regularly on here. I think getting him to give you the right price is a good idea.
Also, SD Realtor (Adam) is very honest on here too, and you may want to ask him for help if your agent doesn’t work out.lindismithParticipant200 year mortgage! LOL
Yeah, what exactly do these new products and options look like????? Anyone have any other ideas?
August 29, 2007 at 3:00 PM in reply to: The longest DOM (647+ days) without any price reduction !? #82456lindismithParticipantLow-quads??? That should be loquats! And yeah, can’t believe we’ve missed out on those for 2 years! LOL!

Texas has one of the highest poverty rates in the nation: 16% or above, with 4 of the top 10 worst counties in the US.

lindismithParticipantyou’re looking for Mr. Brightside’s blog:
http://sandiegomarketmonitor.blogspot.com/
The ccdc (?) also has a lot of the info you’re looking for.
Last summer when I looked for info, I created a spreadsheet with all the new condos nearing completion or scheduled within the next 2-3 years. There were over 13,000 units. I can email it to you if you want, although the data is now a year old.

lindismithParticipantI have a friend who has a Viking fridge. No lie- she’s had 27 service calls in 2 years.
Viking has now sent out their sales rep from AZ, and they’re going to remove it.
Viking does not yet know how to make fridges. Cook tops yes, but not fridges. Tell your buddy he just wasted a lot of money.
