Participant

not jail time.
Man, you would think we could all agree on this one!
Judge made the right call. She does time AND goes to the looney bin.
Might even be an argument for taking her own kids away. (I generally think the standard for that has to be EXTREMELY high, but this just may meet it.)
How is jail time going to help her if she has a mental disorder? She should be institutionalized in a psychiatric facility where she can get professional help and kept away from the public.

Participant
She obviously has some strange mental issues (IMHO, most/all people who prey on innocent people have “mental issues”), but if we believe that people who harm children belong in jail, then we shouldn’t make exceptions just because this woman is an attractive, white woman from La Jolla. If a black man did this to young babies, would people feel so forgiving?
Actually, I would feel exactly the same regardless of the race, sex and looks. It’s just mind boggling that a person who seems to be so successful does such a weird thing to defenseless kids. She needs help big time.

ParticipantIt’s much easier to get a bank owned property when you can pay cash. People who have the money don’t mind putting down a lot so that they can get a great deal.

Participant

She arranged sleepovers at our house for my sister and me, took us shopping, and taught us how to apply makeup. Looking pretty and having good social skills go a long way in any profession. Again, more opportunity for success.
Your mom did a great job.
I wish more people had wardrobe skills. Unfortunately Americans have closets full of moo-moos and sweats. Being as rich as we are, and shopping as much as we do, Americans look incredibly unkept and ragged. It OK for men, but unkept women look very unattractive, IMO.
I noticed this when I first came to CA. People walk around in flip-flops, shorts and T-shirts all year around.
