Participant
Putting discretionary income income the hands of the financial disciplined masses would do alot to help fix our imbalance over time.
I’m sorry sdr, but since when are the masses “financially disciplined”?

Participant
Along those lines – I have to ask, seriously. Why fix a cavity in a baby tooth ?
I think it depends on the tooth. My daughter’s cavity was in her molar and those teeth don’t come out until kids are about 10 – and some kids don’t lose them until they are 12. Even though it was a very small cavity, she is only 4 and it could become a big problem by the time she is 10. If it had been one of the front teeth that come out at 6ish, the dentist would not have bothered to fix it.

ParticipantMy son who is 8 has never had a cavity, but my daughter (almost 5) had a small filling a few months ago. She was great and didn’t need any sedation or novacaine, but it was very minor work.
I think a pediatric dentist is a must for a 3 year old who needs work done. We go to Dr. Rawlings in Encinitas. Everyone on the staff is great and my kids actually look forward to going to the dentist.
I also think a lot depends on your child’s personality. My son would probably need elephant darts since he is a very anxious kid. My daughter is much more easy going and she breezed through it without a second thought. A good pediatric dentist will have a lot of experience putting kids at ease.
