ParticipantArraya,
For every link you present supporting peak oil I can find one that saids its a myth.
Consider that Peak Oil is based on the theory that all the oil we have has been found and that we can do nothing about demand.

ParticipantAllan,
I agree with you about the republican party. Goldwater warned about what would happen if we allowed the party to be hijacked by religous factions.
I find this statement by Goldwater fascinating.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Goldwater
After his retirement in 1987, Goldwater described the conservative Arizona Governor Evan Mecham as “hardheaded” and called on him to resign, and two years later stated that the Republican party had been taken over by a “bunch of kooks”. In a 1994 interview with the Washington Post the retired senator said,
“ When you say “radical right” today, I think of these moneymaking ventures by fellows like Pat Robertson and others who are trying to take the Republican party and make a religious organization out of it. If that ever happens, kiss politics goodbye. ”
The democrats have become socialists and the republican party has become a religious organization.
I guess Goldwater was correct about kissing politics goodbye.
