Participant
marion: “He said there WMD, did he not?” Where did he get this information, marion? Maybe it was based on years of intelligence gathering from sources all over the world, including Russian, French and British sources, along with the absolute certainty that the Clinton Administration had when it came to believing that Saddam had WMD (as comments from Berger, Albright, Al Gore and others attest to).
You’ll conveniently ignore all of that, and go with the “he lied” theory. Wow. Uh, okay. Sure. Makes perfect sense.
Plus he used them against the Kurds. Why doubt that he had them when he had used them. In fact it was his use of nerve gas against the Kurds is what landed him the death penalty.
Here is article on the 550 tons of yellowcake recently removed from Iraq.

Participant
We created him to use against Iran. We supplied him with missles and chemicals to use against his enemies and he did. We made a deal with the devil and I suspect we were trying to clean up our mess. It looks like our intell about what the J6pack Iraqi residents would do if we actually invaded, but it looks like we lack intell about their culture and do not understand the various factions involved and their historic feuds with each other. I read that it was because the CIA has been relying on electronic surveillance rather than operatives, part of the cut back during the previous administration, but I am by no means an expert on this issue. I defer to Allan in this discussion. He is the blogerati in-residence.
We did not create Saddam to use against Iran. He was a thug in the Baath Paty since early in his life.
Its a myth we created Saddam and was created by the left knowing full well it was a lie.
We supplied arms to Iraq during the Iraq-Iran war simply because we considered Iraq to be the less evil at the time.
Few people realize that the Baath party was actually formed upon the principles and organizational structure of the Nazi party. Iraq, because of its oil and hatred of Jews, was an important battleground between the Axis and Allied powers in World War II. Nazi propaganda was broadcast throughout Baghdad, and Iraqis often went on rampages against Jews throughout the war. One of the most ardent Nazi supporters during WWII was named Khairallah Talfah. Talfah was Saddam’s uncle. After the war, many of the key Iraqi Nazi supporters, all of whom evaded prosecution, wound up involved in Saddam’s rise to power.

Yeah, when was that last Superbowl win, 1967? I’d like to see a Jets player pull a Namath and guarantee a Superbowl win against the Colts now. That’d be funny. Sad, but funny.
At least if you’re gonna pull for one of those foul NYC teams, root for the Giants.
LOL, you know, the only reason I liked the Jets was because of Namath. I am an Alabama fan so whenever an Alabama player makes a splash on a pro team then automatically the state adopts the team.
I don’t care that much for pro ball now. I prefer the college game.
Other pro teams I like are Green Bay (Bart Starr), Oakland Raiders (kenny Stable) Miami Dolphins(several players).
I dislike Dallas and Washington the most.
