You can also check the state Department of General Services website, under Procurement Division.

Can’t speak for the federal government program, but the state program is fairly active, the Governor has set high targets for state agencies to use DVBE and small business contracts. California no longer has the minority/women-owned designation post Prop 209. Small/microbusinesses and DVBE are the only “special” ones that the state recognizes. In some cases, DGS has a single contract with one service provider that all state agencies must use; the only exception is if the agency uses a small biz or DVBE.

jennyoParticipantHusband plans to be at WaMu when they open tomorrow morning. It turns out there is only $400K in the WaMu account and the rest is in a local credit union and another bank (Rabo). So he is going to split the $300 from WaMu into $150K chunks for BofA and Wells.
It sucks because it will cause more changes to the final tax reconciliation for the estate (more account numbers, more 1099s) but obviously that little hassle is nothing compared to $300K vanishing into thin air (actually, thick, smoky air here in the Sacramento Valley).

jennyoParticipantI think kewp is right on, I wish I had his (assuming kewp is male) discipline.
Does anyone here think WaMu will fail within the next 90 days? My husband, as executor of a relative’s will, has over $700K in WaMu and he is getting ready to distribute the funds but the court date keeps getting pushed back. Should we worry, since only $100K is insured? Court date probably in late August now.
